Low US gas prices and high inventories has made the US an unappealing market for LNG sellers this year –and the latest Department of Energy (Doe) LNG data makes for unpleasant reading of US regas capacity holders.
LNG imports into the US for August dropped to their lowest monthly level since December visual_editor007, according to the DoE report - August LNG imports fell 38% year-on-year to less than half a million tonnes (0.43visual_editor mt), the lowest volume of imports recorded since December visual_editor007.
