BP has suspended production at the Rhum gas field in the North Sea in response to the latest European Union (EU) sanctions against Iran, the UK major said on Tuesday. Rhum, which lies about 400 km off Scotland's north eastern coast, is owned by BP (50%) and the Iranian Oil Company (50%) under a joint operating agreement dating back to the early 1970s.
