The Baltic States - Latvia, Lithuania - have entered a race to build an LNG terminal, said Juris Savickis, chief executive of the energy company Itera Latvia. Latvia aims to build an LNG terminal in Riga to service the whole region, while Lithuania announced it would be prepared to go ahead even without funding from the European Union.
