India’s state gas utility, GAIL has purchased one LNG cargo from Qatar’s RasGas to be delivered into Petronet’s Dahej LNG terminal in February to meet India’s upsurge in power demand. India has suffered a severe winter, increasing demand from gas-fired power plants. A GAIL official said: "The company is trying to get more cargoes but for now it is importing one cargo from Qatar."
