Gazprom deputy chief executive Valery Golubev said Ukraine could save around $8 billion a year on its bill for 40 Bcm/year of imported Russian gas by joining the Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan Customs Union. A Ukrainian cabinet official said that Ukraine is considering entering a formal process to enter the trading block in July.
