Gazprom is gearing up to drilling its first gas production well at the Sakhalin-3 project in the Russian Far East this year in an effort to speed up the operational start of the venture. Vsevolod Cherepanov, Gazprom’s gas, gas condensate and oil production department, said the company is aiming to start production at the Kirinsky field, which is part of the Sakahlin-3 development, with a view to supplying gas into the Russian network in 2012. Part of the gas is earmarked for exports to Asian markets.
