Turkmenistan has shown interest in joining the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania Interconnector (AGRI) project, the Turkmen president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said during a three-day visit to Bucharest this week. AGRI consists of three elements: The construction of a liquefaction plant on the Georgian coast, most probably near the city of Kulevi; construction of a 110-km pipeline that would connect Kulevi with the South Caucasus Pipeline and a regasification terminal in Constanta, Romania. Three gas capacity volumes – visual_editor Bcm/year, 5 Bcm/year and 8 Bcm/year – are under consideration for the project.
