US company Hess LNG energy company has withdrawn a controversial proposal to build an LNG terminal at Fall River, Massachusetts. The plan came under fierce opposition from residents and politicians in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. But Gordon Shearer, president of Hess LNG pointed to unattractive economics for the import project in light of increased US shale gas production.
