Gazprom may soon sell a bigger share of its gas production to customers in Asia as it is forging ahead with implementing its Eastern Gas Programme. Alexey Miller, chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee said at the annual General Shareholders Meeting that the Sakhalin–Khabarovsk–Vladivostok pipeline is “a top-priority facility” of the Eastern Gas Program. The pipeline, described by Miller as the “backbone of the Unified Gas Supply System in Eastern Russia”, is scheduled to start operations in September 2011.
