Ukraine is planning to cut its natural gas imports from Russia to 12 Bcm/year within five years, according to a statement by Energy Minister Yuriy Boyko on Tuesday. Boyko said that the former Soviet state would cut natural gas use with energy efficiency measures, more use of coal and by boosting domestic gas production to 27 bcm/year by 2017.
