By visual_editor016 Qatar will be producing visual_editor3 Bcf/d of natural gas as its various LNG, domestic supply, pipeline gas and GTL projects reach their production plateaus. At that point Qatar will face a stark economic choice: accept that the double-digit GDP growth rates of recent years will plummet as gas production levels off and crude production continues to decline; or launch another wave of natural gas development. Assuming that the North Field studies currently under way yield good news about the field’s potential for further development – and the current moratorium on new projects is lifted – how likely are we to see another wave of LNG development?
