The UNESCO World Heritage Commission is “urgently” sending a team of scientists to the Gladstone LNG project in Curtis Island, Australia, amid serious concerns over the impact of Australian LNG projects on the Great Barrier Reef, according to media reports. Gladstone is the centre of a $60 billion LNG hub that could create 6,000 full-time and part time jobs in Queensland.
