The UK’s Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has asked regulator Ofgem to investigate whether further action is needed to ensure that medium to long-term gas supplies for consumers remain secure. The request was issued after Ofgem and DECC said on Tuesday in their Annual Statutory Security of Supply Report to Parliament that UK gas supply infrastructure is resilient in the short to medium term but that they had concerns looking further forward.
