BP is hoping to become part of a potential consortium developing a new gas transit pipeline across Turkey to help bring Azeri gas from the BP-operated Shah Deniz field in the Caspian Sea to Europe. The pipeline would form a key part of Southern Corridor pipeline infrastructure, and, like BP’s recent South East Europe Pipeline (SEEP) proposal, potentially undermine the ambitions of the Nabucco consortium.
