Bahrain has entered negotiations with Gazprom to buy around 3 mtpa of LNG, to be delivered to a new import terminal expected to open by 2015. “Originally we would start off with, say, 400 MMcf/d of gas and that could be slowly ramped up,” Bahrain energy minister Abdul-Hussain bin Ali Mirza told Reuters on Tuesday. Bahrain's gas import plans have been constrained by tension with regional producers Qatar and Iran.
