Chevron announced on Tuesday it would increase oil and gas production by a fifth versus 2011 levels by 2017, aided by its Australian LNG projects, which will start delivering LNG to the Asian market in two years’ time. Chevron upstream and gas executive George Kirkland said the Gorgon start-up would demonstrate the financial power of Chevron’s LNG investments, adding: “These are long-lived assets that will generate significant cash flow for decades”.
