Gazprom said on Friday that it had held talks with DEPA over a possible bid for the Greek state-owned natural gas company, which buys gas for sale to industrial and households customers in Greece. Last month, Greece invited bids for DEPA as the country attempts to raise €19 billion ($25 billion) from privatisations. The bidding process is scheduled to end on March 22 and DEPA could be sold with its pipeline subsidiary (DESFA) or as two separate companies.
