Environmental groups in the US state of Wyoming are asking a state court to force the Wyoming Oil & Gas Conservation Commission (WOGCC) to provide more information about the chemicals used in hydraulic fracturing (fracking). The groups have filed a lawsuit citing concerns about the safety of Wyoming’s ground and drinking water. In 2010, Wyoming became the first state to require disclosure of chemicals used by energy companies in the fracking process, but the state exempted products and chemicals that qualified as confidential commercial information.
