The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Tuesday said it expects US natural gas output to increase by 4.5% this year on 2011’s record level. In its short-term outlook, the EIA said it expects marketed natural gas production for 2012 to rise by 3 Bcf/d to a record 69.22 Bcf/d, an increase from its March outlook which put production this year at 67.91 Bcf/d. Production growth is expected to slow down, the agency said, as low prices impact plans for new drilling.
