The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on Wednesday said that it will give unconventional gas and oil producers more time to invest in technology to capture emissions from hydraulic fracturing, allowing them to flare waste gases until January visual_editor015. But the American Petroleum Institute (API) said such capture technology could cost $180,000/well, while the Republicans said the rules were part of President Obama’s “war on natural gas production”, Reuters reported.
