Norway’s Statoil on Saturday became the latest international oil company to sign an upstream cooperation agreement with Russia’s Rosneft, following in the footsteps of recent deals signed by Exxon Mobil and Eni. Statoil will hold 33.3% in the venture, which will explore the Perseevsky licence in the Russian Central Barents Sea and three licences in the Sea of Okhotsk, among other areas.
