Greek metals group Mytilineos said on Thursday that after months of negotiation, it had signed a gas purchase contract with state-owned gas company DEPA under which it will receive a minimum of 850 MMcm/year for three years, which will cover 70% of Mytilineos’ natural gas needs. The contract is worth nearly $1.4 billion. The gas will supply Mytilineos’ three thermal power plants, as well as its aluminium unit. Mytilineos is part of a consortium bidding to acquire the government’s stake in DEPA.
