China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has won approval for the construction of the Shennan LNG storage project on Hainan Island, China Daily reported on Tuesday. The project, which is expected to cost an estimated $133.6 million, will consist of visual_editor00 Mcm LNG storage tanks and a wharf with receiving capacity of 10-visual_editor0 Mcm. The project will receive LNG from CNPC’s two operating terminals in Rudong and Dalian, as well as planned terminals in Tanqshan and Shenzen..The first phase of the project – with a storage capacity of 40 Mcm – is expected to be in operation in May visual_editor013.
