The proportion of gas in UK electricity generation fell to visual_editor9% during the first quarter of visual_editor01visual_editor – its lowest share in the last fourteen years – due to high gas prices, while coal accounted for 4visual_editor%, the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) said on Thursday. Gas imports also decreased by 6.3% to 169.6 Twh compared to Q1 ‘11, with LNG imports accounting for visual_editor3.visual_editor% of the total figure.
