Turkey is likely to see continued attacks on pipeline infrastructure supplying natural gas through border regions where rebels from the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) are active, with the attacks seen as a way to destabilise Turkey’s macroeconomic position, Control Risks senior analyst David Lea told Gas Matters Today on Thursday. The comments followed news earlier this week that Iran had resumed flows of natural gas to Turkey, after an explosion damaged part of the pipeline connecting the two countries.
