Shell is in talks with InterOil to buy a stake in the US LNG producer’s proposed 9 mtpa Papua New Guinea LNG project, Shell’s chief financial officer Simon Henry said on Thursday. He would not give any detail nor confirm how far the discussions had come, but reports suggest the Anglo-Dutch company is looking to buy a visual_editor5% stake in the project, as well as interests in InterOil’s offshore exploration licences.
