In a letter sent to Energy Secretary Steven Chu on Tuesday, a group of 44 US lawmakers have called on the Obama administration to speed the approval process for LNG export facilities, on the basis that delays are stifling domestic production of natural gas. The group of 34 Republicans and ten Democrats in the House of Representatives called for "a renewed sense of urgency to the approval process", saying that a lack of marketing options was impeding fresh gas production.
