Cheniere has applied for regulatory approval to construct and operate an LNG export facility in Corpus Christi, Texas, the second LNG export project planned in the US by the company. Cheniere, which began construction on its 16 mtpa Sabine Pass LNG export scheme in August, is proposing a three-train 15 mtpa liquefaction plant on the Corpus Christi site, which was originally planned as an LNG import terminal.
