Iran and China have temporarily shelved plans for a $3.3 billion LNG export project in the Persian Gulf port of Asaluyeh, according to Iranian news agency Mehr on Sunday. Tehran reportedly halted the proposal because the Chinese company involved could not finance the project, again emphasising the difficulties involved in authorising financial transactions with sanction-hit Iran.
