The European Commission is to investigate whether Gazprom is abusing its dominant market position in supplying gas to EU member states. The Commission said it has concerns the Russian company may be “hindering competition in Central and Eastern European gas markets” in breach of EU antitrust rules. An EU spokesman told Gas Matters Today the concerns relate to Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Slovakia.
