With the threat of Russian gas supply distruptions this winter looming large over the EU, the European Commission has carried out a stress stress on the visual_editor8-nation bloc's energy sector, the results of which were published this week and which recommended the avoidance of interventionist measures - instead following a market-based approach to energy security, increased coordination between member states by maximising interconnector usage, and the removal of restrictions to cross-border energy trade.
