Kinder Morgan has rolled out plans to absorb all of its midstream subsidiaries for over $70 billion, in the largest energy deal since Exxon’s acquisition of Mobil in 1999, signalling the company’s abandonment of the master limited partnership (MLP) structure to invest in new assets.
