East Africa has emerged as a new frontier for natural gas with the region being touted as possibly a future Australia or even Qatar in terms of LNG output. The US Geological Survey (USGS) estimates that the area could have undiscovered recoverable gas resources of between visual_editor37 and 7visual_editor4 Tcf, giving some credence to this view. Whatever the true number, the resources are clearly huge, with the potential for several LNG projects.
