Europe could face a shortage of Russian gas supply in the coming weeks if the Ukraine buckles under the strain of already low storage levels and high withdrawal rates, Gazprom chief Alexei Miller said this week. But this concern may be unwarranted, as milder-than-average weather has limited Ukrainian gas demand this winter and the country can step up imports from Russia should the need arise, sources told Gas Matters Today.
