The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has threatened to bring the country’s oil and gas industry to a halt by next Monday if employers continue laying off workers and failing to create new jobs.
PENGASSAN issued the statement on Sunday, claiming that a number of employers had fired staff despite a tripartite agreement between the association, Nigeria’s oil ministry and another trade union.
