The Netherlands mines inspectorate has advised the country’s government to further lower the cap on production from the Groningen field to reduce the risk of earthquakes, media sources reported this week.
The Dutch body has reportedly requested that the government cut production this coming autumn to 24 Bcm annually, which would be 3 Bcm lower than the current production level that was enforced in November 2015.
