Converting the UK gas grid to transport hydrogen instead of methane could help the country meet its 2050 climate goals, according to a report by gas distributor Northern Gas Network.
The ‘H21 Leeds City Gate report’ proposed making Leeds, which houses 1% of the UK population, the world’s first city to run on hydrogen for an estimated cost of GBP 2 billion (USD 2.6 billion).
