Nigerian workers’ union Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has suspended its nationwide strike after reaching an agreement with the government, local media reported on Wednesday.
PENGASSAN last week threatened to completely shutdown the countries oil and gas sector by taking industrial action over staff layoffs, the poor state of refineries, ongoing imports of oil products and plans to unbundle the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.
