The UK government closed the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) on Thursday and shifted its responsibilities to a separate revamped business ministry, now called the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
The move comes as part of a Conservative cabinet reshuffle following the appointment of new prime minister Theresa May on Wednesday. Greg Clark, previously communities minister and a former shadow energy secretary, will head up the expanded department.
