Thai state-run company PTT plans to increase LNG imports by over 65% from 3 mtpa this year to 5 mtpa in 2017 to bridge the gap left from declining domestic supply, according to reports this week.
PTT currently has a 2 mtpa SPA with Qatargas running to 2035 and buys cargoes on the spot market, but is negotiating new long-term deals and hopes to conclude at least one by September, according to reports citing PTT CEO Tevin Vongvanich.
