The state-owned Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) has completed a feasibility study into importing LNG using floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) and is seeking government approval to proceed with a project.
EGAT spokesman Saharat Boonpotipukdee said the company had submitted a proposal for the business to the National Energy Policy Committee (NEPC), which is expected to give its approval by the end of this month.
