The International Maritime Organisation (IMO) will impose a 0.5% global sulphur cap on marine emissions in 2020, the shipping industry’s regulator said on Thursday afternoon during the body's 70th Marine Environment Protection Committee meeting in London.
“We will issue a full statement tomorrow [October 28] once the implementing resolution has been adopted,” the IMO said in an emailed statement.
