Market economics point to a growing role for gas in the US power sector in the coming years, even if new president-elect Donald Trump slackens environmental policies that would support methane over coal.
In the televised debates ahead of the election on November 8, the billionaire said he supported “all forms of energy” and that policies under the Obama administration and state-backed Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) were putting US energy companies – specifically miners – out of business.
