French major Total has won rights to develop an estimated USD 100 million floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) project in waters off the southeast shore of Ivory Coast as first step in a larger plan to create a regional LNG hub in the west African state.
Total will lead a project consortium and take the largest single share (34%), followed by Socar of Azerbaijan (26%) and Shell (13%). Ivory Coast state oil company Petroci and international firms Endeavor Energy, Golar LNG and CE-Energies will also participate.
