Italy’s Eni and Algeria’s Sonatrach have reached a series of new bilateral agreements to reinforce cooperation in gas production, other upstream projects and renewable energy.
The companies reviewed a gas supply contract last year, with a view to increasing Algerian flows to Italy. So far this year, Eni said Italy has imported totalled nearly 10 Bcm from Algeria. That would constitute a nearly 50% gain over cross-border flows last year, according to BP statistics.
