Japanese and European LNG buyers have concluded a series of new contracts with suppliers in the US, Malaysia and Qatar, according to news reports this week.
Japanese consortium JERA – a joint venture between utilities TEPCO and Chubu Electric – said it had bought a first-ever cargo from the lower 48 US states on 7 December. The shipment from Cheniere’s Sabine LNG is scheduled to arrive in early January.
