Eni has sold Russian state-affiliated Rosneft a 30% stake in the Shourouk concession in offshore Egypt, which contains the 30 Tcf Zohr gas field, the Italian company said on Monday.
The deal includes an option for the Russian company to purchase a further 5% interest in the concession in line with the same terms, Eni said. Rosneft will pay an estimated USD 1.13 billion for the Shourouk stake, as well as USD 450 million for past expenditures.
