National oil companies (NOCs) from Bolivia and Argentina have agreed to jointly explore the Charagua area in southeast Bolivia, which is estimated to hold 2.7 Tcf of gas.
Exploration and exploitation of the block would require an investment of just over USD1.1 billion, Argentine firm Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales (YPF) said in a statement on Tuesday. The area in the state of Santa Cruz could potentially produce up to 3.7 Bcm/year (360 MMcf/d), it added.
