Estimates of recoverable gas reserves from an onshore coal bed methane (CBM) project in Botswana have been almost doubled, project operator Tlou Energy said on Wednesday.
Africa-focused Tlou said proved and probable (2P) gas reserves from the Lesedi and Mamba CBM projects were increased by 44% to 3.9 Bcf. Proved, probable and possible (3P) reserves – a potentially more speculative yardstick – shot up 390% to 261 Bcf, compared to previous studies.
