An increase of 4.99 mt (7.8%) in supply in the fourth quarter of 2016 took the total for the year to 263.8 mt – up 15.59 mt (6.3%) compared with 2015. It was the largest annual increase since 2011, when the last of Qatar’s six 7.8 mtpa mega-trains was commissioned. However, the increase was less than had been expected at the beginning of 2016, as delays in start-ups and technical problems at some trains during build-up reduced output.
